Art Teacher - Mrs. Denise Zwald

I began my college career at Tarrant County Community College. I transferred to the University of North Texas. I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design/Industrial Technology. I have a teaching certificate for K-12 all level art. I have been teaching art 16 years total for the last 10 years at SS Dillow.

My husband and I just celebrated our 34th anniversary! We have 3 wonderful kids. Emma is 25 and a history teacher in another district, Lindsay is 22 and studying to be a nurse, and Grant is 20 and plays baseball in college. We have one sweet little dog named Buddy. I love lots of things, but some of my favorites are mystery books, birds, pumpkins, fall, and art. I have a goal this year to read at least 25 books! 

Comencé mi carrera universitaria en Tarrant County Community College. Me transfirieron a la Universidad del Norte de Texas. Me gradué con una Licenciatura en Bellas Artes en Diseño de Interiores/Tecnología Industrial. Tengo un certificado de enseñanza para K-12 todos los niveles de arte. He estado enseñando arte durante 16 años en total durante los últimos 10 años en SS Dillow.

¡Mi esposo y yo acabamos de celebrar nuestro 34 aniversario! Tenemos 3 hijos maravillosos. Emma tiene 25 años y es profesora de historia en otro distrito, Lindsay tiene 22 años y estudia para ser enfermera, y Grant tiene 20 años y juega béisbol en la universidad. Tenemos un dulce perrito llamado Buddy. Me encantan muchas cosas, pero algunas de mis favoritas son los libros de misterio, los pájaros, las calabazas, el otoño y el arte. ¡Tengo la meta este año de leer al menos 25 libros!

Experience:  17 years of teaching, including 13 years at S.S. Dillow Elementary

Why I Teach:  I enjoy being a healthy role model for my students and teaching them how they can create habits that will keep them healthy for the rest of their lives.

Fun Fact:  I've been sky diving twice and live to tell about it!
